How Vans sizes its shoes
Because Vans are unisex, one shoe is labelled with both a men's and a women's US size, and the women's number is the men's + 1.5. So M8 / W9.5 is one size: UK 7, EU 40.5, for a foot of about 26 cm. The chart we used starts the men's column at 6.5 and ends the women's column at 11.5; Vans sells sizes beyond those, but its chart doesn't list a foot length for them, so they aren't in our tables.
The Vans US site couldn't be read when we checked, so the chart comes from Vans's official South Africa site, which matches the US grid. Vans also notes that its high performance skate shoes fit snug, so it suggests considering half a size up for those.
